In honor of my cousin who is in labor at this very moment...GO MEGAN! XOXO
15 things every new Mommy needs to know.

1. Sleep when she sleeps. No really...that is not one to ignore if you like yourself!
2. Dry Shampoo...ahhhh! The person who invented dry shampoo had a newborn at home.
3. Breast feeding is not as easy as it looks, don't get discouraged. The La Leche League is a great source of information llli.org.
4. When Daddy offers to help, let him! You are a team, and believe me, it takes at least two!
5. It's okay to tell visitor's that it's time to go home (unless that visitor is my Aunt Stephanie)
6. Have already made snacks in the fridge. When you are exhausted food isn't your top priority, but you still have to eat. Drink plenty of water.
7. When people offer to bring you dinner or help you in any way, let them. Your job is Reagan, let other people take care of you right now.
8. When the baby is sleeping during the day, turn the music or TV on low. The house can't possibly be silent ALL the time, it's best if she gets used to sleeping with a bit of noise. This will also prevent you from freaking out on people when they sneeze while she is sleeping. I wouldn't know that from experience, it's just a guess.......
9. When you get up for feedings throughout the night, keep the lights as dim as possible. It's easy for newborns to get their days and nights mixed up, this will help.
10.Binky's are your new best friend. If she will take one, encourage it! It will later be referred to as a plug.
11.Take pictures of every outfit that you love! They grow too fast to wear anything more than twice.
12.Take videos of her all the time. In 3 years, you will be so thankful that you documented the sweetness. In 6 years, she will enjoy watching them.
13.Kiss her all the time!!! For me, for you, for me some more!
14.You are a MOMMY! That came fully loaded with kisses, snuggles, and a Mommy's intuition. You know what she needs, trust your intuition.
15. There will be moments when you feel like you are doing everything wrong, that's when you know that you are a good Mom.
BONUS:
16. Call AND Skype your cousin Lacey ALL the time. As always she is here for whatever, whenever you need her!

For the record, I am NOT a Doctor, nor a parenting book Author. This is NOT professional advice, I have only raised two healthy and happy children. This is based on experience alone.

Fifteen things that I love about my life...

1. David, he is just amazing and he loves me so much, I see it in his eyes every time he looks at me. I still get butterflies in my stomach when I see him. He makes me laugh, makes me happy, and he is my BEST FRIEND FOREVER. True love.
2. My two beautiful children. They are so incredible and cute, I just feel so blessed to be their Mommy. I get to hang with them twenty four hours a day and I love it. My kids ROCK!
3. My Parents are so great, all of them. They have raised me to be what I am and are very proud of that. They are filled with love and support for me always and they are wonderful in-laws and Grandparents!
4. My siblings, I have two sisters and one brother. Growing up we were best
friends and every day was filled to the max with FUN! There was never a dull moment in our home.
5. My Grandparents are the BEST! My favorite couple in the world. They have shown me what true love really is. I'm so lucky that they have played a huge role in my life and now in my husband and children's life as well. David has always said that we have, "Robert and Linda kind of love."
6. My Aunts and Uncles. They are such amazing role models and great people, they also gave me #7. Even with all the mileage between us, they play a role in my children's lives and that means the world to me.
7. My cousins! I love them all so much! We have always been so close, built-in best friends, and many of my best memories are with them.
8. My friends. You know who you are and you know how much I love you. Each and every one of you has and equally special role in my life. I feel like I hit the jackpot in the friendship department.
9. My family in-law. They are wonderful and I couldn't ask for a better family to marry into. I love them so much, all of them!
10. The Olin's. We love the Olin's so much that they get their own number. They are our family besties! The kids love each other, the Mom's love each other, the Dad's love each other, and we all love each other. BFF's!!!
11. Doing nice things for people. It makes me feel great when I can do something nice for someone else, that is a happy feeling.
12. Family Fun days! These are days that make great memories for my family. We wake up in the morning and decide what adventure we will take that day, it is always an outing and usually somewhere that we have never been. It is truly magical to see the excitement in my children's eyes. Family Fun day is never a disappointment.
13. Family football Sundays! THE BEST DAY OF THE WEEK. We go all out on Sunday, we cheer for our team, sing, dance, snuggle, snack on all of our favorite foods. It's unanimously the favorite day for each of us. Good memories are made on Sunday in our home.
14. Family camp-out nights is another family activity that I love. We blow up the air mattress in the living room, load it up with blankets and pillows, make popcorn, and watch a movie. Then we have a pillow fight, laugh, and talk until we all fall asleep together.
15. Book Club! I love to read, I love to read with my friends, and I love to chat and drink wine with my friends. Enough said!

I may not be a perfect person, and I make mistakes. There are things that get me down sometimes, just like everyone else. All that matters at the end of the day is that my life is so great for me! It may not be for someone else, but for me it is everything I want it to be. The fifteen things listed above, that's all I need. Each and every day I am filled with pure happiness! I am blessed.

Fifteen things I enjoy doing with my kids.

1. Crafts- Lay out paper, crayons, finger paints, stickers, and anything else you have in your craft closet and let them go wild. It's so fascinating to see what they create.

2. Dance Party- clear out the room and turn up the music! This is an everyday activity at my house.

3. Picnic- Pack up sandwiches or hit up the drive thru, enjoy lunch outside
today!

4. Bake Cupcakes- Pre measure ingredients and let the kids pour them
in to the mixing bowl. Don't forget to let the kids lick the frosting beater!

5. Rockstar bath- throw in some glow sticks and turn off the lights! The kids might want to sing and wiggle in the tub, so add some music and enjoy the show.

6. Farmer's market- this is a family activity that can be fun for everyone. Let them help you pick out some fresh vegetables, it may encourage them to eat their veggies. Make sure to stop and get some fresh squeezed lemonade!

7. Park- fresh air and sunshine are always a good thing.

8. Embrace a rainy day- when it rains we like to snuggle on the porch and read a book or just talk. If it's warm enough break out the umbrella's and
play in the rain.

9. Make dinner- pizza is our favorite! Everyone gets to toss on some cheese
AND add a topping.

10. Dress up- Even my little guy breaks out the masks for this one! Here's your chance to use all those bridesmaid dresses again!

11.Playdough- it's even more fun when you make your own! Inspire them to be creative.

12.Balloons- keep bags of balloons stashed in the closet and bring them
out on days that are too wet or cold to play outside. Make a game out of it, throw them in the air and say "don't let them touch the ground!". How about balloon baseball, get the long balloons and use them as a bat. You could sort the balloons by color and stash them in funny places, green balloons in the bathtub! Make the balloons smaller in size and hide them all over the house. A balloon scavenger hunt is always fun!

13. Monkey Joe's- this is great for all of us! They get to bounce that energy out, and Mommy gets a mini break!

14. Movie night- pop some popcorn and break out the candy. We like to cover the living room floor with blankets and pillows for some snuggle time!

15. Say your prayers together- let them say the blessing at dinnertime. Even if they are thanking God for apple juice and chicken nuggets, it's a beautiful thing to hear.
