Pop, pop, pop. your own POPCORN!

My house is full of popcorn lovers! When I was a kid, my Grandma had one of those old fashioned air poppers, it was the coolest thing. I can still remember the smell of popcorn filling the house as it popped. These days, it's all about the microwave, still yummy but just not the same. Movie theare popcorn is fantastic, but let's face it, parents don't get to go to the movies very often. Why not just make our own, right? It only takes three ingredients and the kids LOVE to help!

I use Orville Redenbachers Original kernels, Kernel Season's Movie Theatre Butter, and Kirkland sea salt
First, we add the Kernel Seasons butter (about 4 tbsp per 1/2 cup of kernels) and however much salt you like, for us that's about 1/2 a teaspoon. Now it's time to add the kernels! Once they're in with the butter and salt, we shake it around really good to make sure the kernels get fully coated in the oily goodness. Then place over medium heat and cover.
Let it just sit for about a minute, then start shakin' away for another minute or so.
You'll hear a POP and there it is! The kids and I give it a little shake here and there until the kernels have all popped.
Finally, you find the cutest little popcorn lovers and you ask them to eat it all up!
